Vanillin Exposure Disrupts Early Embryonic Cells
The study focused on vanillin, an organic compound widely used to produce vanilla flavors in e-liquids. In laboratory experiments, researchers exposed human embryonic stem cells to the chemical, observing a decline in cell proliferation and survival. The exposure also altered the cells’ ability to maintain their developmental state, which is vital during early pregnancy.
